Take Control of Your Financial Future!

Are you one of the Americans living paycheck to paycheck? In 2012, Bankrate.com published a survey revealing a bitter truth; 76% of America identifies with this situation. Of those surveyed, 50% had less than three months worth of savings for expenses and 24% had none at all. How is this translated? What if I put it to you this way; 3 out of every 4 American’s are one unexpected event away from being homeless, without a car or job, or even scarier, death.
If you’ve tried to get yourself out of this predicament before, you’ll undoubtedly know names like Dave Ramsey and Tony Robbins. You may have even come across people such as “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” Robert Kiyosaki, Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income or Bob Lotich from Seedtime/Christian Personal Finance. While the people you would find in your searches or reading are fantastic sources of information, I feel they all miss the ball on the first step to getting out of the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle. Sure they say you have to get your expenses under control and then you have to save for the emergency and then you can start worrying about retirement.
For those of you who have tried starting your own business, you probably have been directed to several different websites which offer training and advice, but you have to pay $500-$5000 to get access beyond the free stuff. I have gone that route as well and learned this… There are some fantastic methods of generating passive income from a business idea and many of those sites are reputable and work, the problem is still the first step of making an investment to get access to the training or knowledge. Once again, these sites fail to address the initial barrier. The fact is, very rarely do I see concrete examples of how these experts, prodigies or not, got out of or avoided the rat-race.

I see too much emphasis on “make your money work for you” or “follow this to generate passive income” and not enough “change your mindset to control your financial future.”

I am not a financial planner, and at times it may seem I’m just reteaching some basic math, and you’d be right. However, it is not about the math, it is about how we perceive ourselves and how we want to be perceived versus what will ACTUALLY help us become financially independent. My method of tackling such a cancerous topic in our lives has already helped numerous people I know turn their financial life around within one year. It has allowed them the freedom to be calculated with their spending, have the lifestyle they are capable of having and no longer receiving a paycheck which is already spoken for when it hits their bank accounts because of past decisions. Following these steps can ensure you experience the same success.
My process takes the focus off of your income and investments and places it squarely on your expenses and current lifestyle. Debt is blind to income.

It doesn’t matter if you are making $60K or $600K, if you are living paycheck to paycheck, your lifestyle controls you instead of the other way around.

You must understand your expenses, explore your foundation for making spending decisions and commit to getting out of the black hole of consumerism and keeping up with the Jones’. These are the same steps and principals I’ve used with my own family to control our debt, take care of our basic needs and still be able to go on a major vacation at least once a year; all while working on a budget of less than $42,000 a year. By the way, that budget is about $18,000 LESS than the poverty income limit for a family of three living in the Cleveland, Ohio area based on 2015 calculations.
As I said before, I am not a certified financial planner, nor am I an investment banker. I currently work in the non-profit sector and my wife works in a pharmacy. After looking back on my lifestyle in the military and seeing everyday in my current job how easily people can become slaves to debt, I was not satisfied with the status quo. My family was in that 76% of Americans, and everything I had tried to that point hadn’t worked… So I made may own way.
I took steps to turn my financial life around, I duplicated those steps with people around me who were struggling and I work every week with a wonderful group of case managers who are making a difference in people’s lives referencing this same philosophy.
My family went from being $60K in debt and living paycheck to paycheck in a tiny 1000 sq-ft apartment to financing a modest 3 bedroom 2 bath home, contributing more than 70% to our own wedding, and cutting $20K from our debt… IN ONE YEAR!
Jonathan, a military member from West Palm Beach was struggling because his car was breaking down, he was about to propose to his girlfriend, and he wasn’t sure how much longer he could afford the apartment he was in. After sitting down with him for only two hours, he had a much clearer picture of his financial situation and where his money was going. Since he met with me and took time to reevaluate his spending decisions, he was able to pay off the engagement ring, upgrade from a one bedroom to a two bedroom apartment and put 50% down a new car in
ONLY SIX MONTHS.
These concepts are not reserved for the “specialists” and I can teach them to you so you can experience the same freedom I, and those I’ve already taught, experience in our lives now.
“But I have my spending habits under control, I just don’t have enough money coming in.” Does that sound like you? Later in this process I will tell you why this thinking is a fallacy. Even though I agree a certain minimum level of income is needed to just be able to survive, this process highlights truly what YOUR CURRENT ABSOLUTE MINIMUM is and will also highlight the waste. If this process doesn’t show you your financial waste to help you turn it around, I promise you will at least see what your TRUE deficit is, not just the “ballpark” figure, so you can begin to take the steps needed to regain control.
I took a lot of the same steps you probably have only to end up further behind or not moving at all. All you have to do is contact me to set up your our first meeting. If you don’t, and just continue doing what you are doing, are things really going to get any better; what have you got to lose? I’m ready to help you “Find Your Max Performance” in your finances and have the lifestyle you want right now, so lets not waste time!
